What, why, when, and how is fasting?! This is less of a theological foundation and more of a call to do it and a practical “how to” If you are a Christian, you need to fast.
Read MoreHey! This is an update for what's happening! I started recording the audiobook for the Blue-Collar Blindspot ( bluecollarbiblescholar.com/book ). This is just a small primer on miaphysitism. I share my approach to dealing with nuanced theology topics and I give a basic breakdown as well as a quick explanation of monophysitism and dyophysitism and talk a little smack about gnostics while I'm at it. I believe every Christian needs to strive to learn about Church History, Original Biblical Languages, Theology, and Biblical content and history. It's so easy to be fooled if you wait for your pastor to spoon feed you the faith every Sunday. Every Christian should strive to learn more about the deeper things of the faith, life, and Godliness as they go. This is much simpler than people realize and modern convenience has made this easier than any other time in history. Use this channel as a springboard to do your own research and find your own answers. On a side note, I wrote a book about the Blue-Collar Blindspot in Evangelical media, check it out here! Below a series of video reviews, sharing my thoughts as I read through John Bevere’s latest book, X:Multiply Your God-given Potential. He walks you through a simple approach to realizing your God-given gifts and exercising them in your calling to walk in the anointing. It releases on Nov. 17th and is on preorder with the audio book right now at messengerinternational.org
I ramble a bit about the lack of moral clarity around electoral government vs monarchies from a Biblical perspective. There’s lots of other stuff too. I’ll be back to my regular program shortly, real life is complex as of late, you know?
I butcher a tree and muse on the real and practical truth of the Biblically founded Christian worldview.
I don’t think anyone really believes you can work your way to heaven, or that you don’t have to do anything. It’s always both in execution.
Proverbs 19:11, 19 20:3
A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger,
And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.
A man of great anger will bear the penalty,
For if you rescue him, you will only have to do it again.
Keeping away from strife is an honor for a man,
But any fool will quarrel.

-What is the key word here?
-Define anger using only one sentence.

Genesis 3:17-19
Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’;
Cursed is the ground because of you;
In toil you will eat of it
All the days of your life.
“Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;
And you will eat the plants of the field;
By the sweat of your face
You will eat bread,
Till you return to the ground,
Because from it you were taken;
For you are dust,
And to dust you shall return.”

Proverbs 19:24, 20:4, 11, 13
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish,
But will not even bring it back to his mouth.
The sluggard does not plow after the autumn,
So he begs during the harvest and has nothing.
It is by his deeds that a lad distinguishes himself
If his conduct is pure and right.
Do not love sleep, or you will become poor;
Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with food.
